About Us

The Pahrump Valley Obedience Club (PVOC) was originally incorporated as the Pahrump Valley Kennel Club in February 1990 under the laws of the State of Nevada as an educational non-profit organization. In 2005 our name was changed to the Pahrump Valley Obedience Club of Nevada, Inc. PVOC is an AKC licensed obedience club.

Through its programs and training classes, it is the goal of the Club to encourage responsible dog ownership and provide a foundation for good “doggy” behavior at home, in public, or in formal competition.

Classes emphasize positive training methods and are offered throughout the year. They are designed to teach the dog owner how to effectively communicate with his/her dog so the dog continues to learn outside of the class setting and may enjoy a lifetime of well behaved companionship.

Formal AKC competitive events and other events, such as training matches and dog behavioral seminars, are also held throughout the year. Membership in the PVOC is open to dog owners, exhibitors and others who are interested in responsible dog care. We invite you to join us at our monthly meetings.

Our trainers are all members of the PVOC and have earned at least a Companion Dog (CD) or Rally Novice (RN) title in formal AKC competition. They are fully qualified to help you train your dog. We encourage our members who are just starting out in obedience, to work with one of our trainers as an assistant to learn the art of dog training first hand.
